“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take up my yoke and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Matthew 11:28-29
Some look for it in vacations, movies, or shopping. Others look for it in alcohol, pornography, or procrastination. All of these may provide a temporary escape, but the wearisome burdens of futile work, unresolved conflicts, or crushing grief remain waiting for us.

Jesus offers a different rest, a deeper rest. Take on His work of humility, and you will find a bearable burden. Take on the assignment of learning from Him, and you will find a renewing of not only your strength but also your soul. Jesus offers a different rest. It is not a temporary rest from work, but a deeper, lasting rest that comes in the right work of being his disciple.
May you find a different rest in Jesus today!
