“Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are small among the clans of Judah; one will come from you to be ruler over Israel for me.” – Micah 5:2
“Where is the Christ?” asked the ruined people of Judah. Seeking a shepherd to save and restore them, they found a promise that one day the small village of Bethlehem would become the beginning of their salvation and restoration. They gave the Christ their hope.
“Where is the Christ?” asked the wise men from the east (Matthew 2:1-2, 9-11). Seeking a divinely announced king, they found an average, peasant boy. They gave the Christ their worship.
“Where is the Christ?” asked the jealous, ruler Herod (Matthew 2:3, 16). Seeking an unwanted contender for his throne, he found helpless infants and massacred them. He gave the Christ his hatred.
“Where is the Christ?” ask wise men and women of all times. Seeking a leader who serves and saves, they will find Jesus resurrected and reigning bringing His kingdom of peace to all who trust Him. They give the Christ their faith.
