“The Lord appeared to him…Then Abram fell facedown and God spoke with him…” (Genesis 17:1-3)
What is the right response when God appears and speaks to you? Ask Moses, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Peter, and Abram, and they would tell you that right or not, when God speaks you can’t help but get low before Him. One day every one of us will know why...“As I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow to me and every tongue will give praise to God. So then each of us will give an account to God” (Romans 14:11-12). Since we know what is to come, we can practice for that day by daily “getting low” before God. We “get low” by slowing down long enough to read and contemplate His Word. We “get low” by quieting the distractions long enough to listen for His voice in prayer. We can either wait until the weight of His glory forces us to our knees, or we can daily practice for that day by willingly choosing to “get low” before God. What will you choose today?
